DIRECTORATE OF UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES (DUS)

The Directorate of Undergraduate Studies (DUS) was established in 2016 as a response taken by the management to free the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs (DVCAA) from day-to-day operational issues. The directorate is designed to coordinate all matters related to processing non-degree – certificate and diploma – and undergraduate student admissions, registration, conducting of examinations, keeping of students’ records and information as well as the issuing of certificates. The DUS is also responsible for coordinating the marketing programme for the university.

The DUS has three units/sections namely:

1. Admissions office
2. Examinations office
3. Data office

1. Roles and duties of the Admissions Office
i. Guiding admissions procedures and processes
ii. Processing online applications (undergraduate and non-degree applications)
iii. Overseeing continuing student registration
iv. Managing the transfer of students (within and inter university)
2. Roles and duties of the Examinations Office
i. Coordinating all examination processes
ii. Overseeing examination moderation
iii. Formulating teaching schedules and time tabling
iv. Implementing examinations rules, regulations and laws
v. Issuing academic transcripts and certificates
3. Roles and duties of the Data Office
i. Organizing student help desk (registration)
ii. Keeping students’ records
iii. Updating institutional and students’ information
