The department trains students in laboratory diagnostics, clinical testing and medical research to support healthcare delivery. Its programmes combine theoretical knowledge with hands-on laboratory practice, equipping graduates with the skills to perform accurate diagnostics, conduct research and contribute to patient care.
Through teaching, research and community service the department plays a key role in strengthening healthcare systems and advancing public health in Tanzania.
